School improvement advice is rarely the problem. Most leaders have read the research, attended the conferences, and know what good looks like. What’s harder is the human side – building a staff who believe in a shared vision, a culture where people feel seen and valued, and the quiet confidence to lead through uncertainty.

That’s where I come in.

I’ve spent two decades working in schools across vastly different worlds. From international classrooms to inner-city London, I’ve learned that the schools that truly thrive aren’t just well-organised. They’re well-led, in the deepest sense: led by people who listen, who care, and who know how to bring others with them.

Sustainable school improvement starts with culture, not strategy. I work with leadership teams to identify what they stand for, build shared values that staff actually own, and create the conditions where great teaching can flourish.

Coaching and leadership development
Whether you’re a new headteacher finding your feet or a senior leader navigating a difficult season, I offer one-to-one coaching that is honest, warm, and grounded in real classroom and leadership experience. I’ll listen carefully, challenge where it’s needed, and help you find your own answers.

CPD, workshops and speaking
I deliver sessions for staff teams, leadership groups, and education conferences, drawing on research, international perspective, and the kind of storytelling that actually sticks. Topics include school culture, inclusion, student wellbeing, and what high-performing systems around the world do differently.

A bit about me

I’ve worked in education for 20 years, including seven years teaching and leading internationallyduring which time I have developed expertise in curriculum, pastoral, inclusion and safeguarding. I write regularly at keystolearn.org, where I explore inclusion, education equity and school leadership.
I believe every school can get better. I also believe that change only sticks when the people doing it feel genuinely invested — and helping leaders build that investment is what I do best.
